Geometric Earrings Workshop: More is More - Vancouver

This is an In-Person Workshop in Vancouver, BC

• December 10 + 11th from 6-8:15pm (best to arrive 5 minutes early if possible!)

This is one of my workshops where you get to LET LOOSE and create to your heart's content! More is more! We'll be using pre-punched out leather pieces, and be able to create around 3-5 pairs of earrings, using an assortment of colourful, geometric leather shapes. I'll be guiding you through an intro project, where you'll learn some basics of painting leather and assembling earrings, and then you'll be set free to create your own designs from a huge selection of different leather shapes. We'll be bringing along a variety of different findings, as well as brass shapes pieces to enhance your designs.

This workshop is a great one to come and make some earrings to give as gifts! I've included some photos of earrings people have made in the past at similar workshops. It's priced a little higher than my usual ones, because I'll be doing A LOT of prep for it - ensuring you've got a large selection of different shapes and colours to play with. And you should be able to finish at least 3 pairs if earrings (probably more!).

About the materials we'll be using

All leather is repurposed - coming from scrap material or second hand clothing. The paints are Angelus Leather Paints which are acrylic-based. The amounts we'll be using will be small, and paint accidents are rare - but if you're prone to a little clumsiness you might want to bring a smock or apron. We will have findings such as hoops and hooks in 14K Gold-Plated + Stainless Steel. If you require clip-ons please let us know. If you’d like to upgrade to 14K Gold-Filled Hooks, let us know ahead of time and I'll have you pre-pay $10 /per pair as an add-on. 

Accessibility

This workshop may be suitable for children over 10 with a reasonable level of manual dexterity - please check with Jamie if you’ve got questions. We will be using sharp scissors and doing some cutting of small leather pieces. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, with a spot purchased for each participant. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Please let me know if you require any additional assistance.

Refunds / Cancellations

• This workshop is refundable up to 1 week in advance. Cancellations within 1 week of the workshop are non-refundable, as we begin painting leather and punching up shapes up to a week in advance. Tickets ARE transferrable though, so if you can't make it last minute, you're welcome to sell or giveaway to a friend. Your pre-selections will apply to the same ticket.
