Banana Slug Earrings
Meet the Pacific Banana Slug - Ariolimax Columbianus. Squiggly slug bodies w/ hand painted spots, antenae, eyes and an iridescent droplet representing its trail.
These chunky moist slimers are found along the forest floor along the Pacific Northwest Coast. They come in Black, Brown and Yellow, but these speckled ones are my favorite. If you clicked on this listing, you too must be a fan of these magnificent hermaphrodites! Fun fact about the Banana Slug - when the cross-mate, they gnaw off the penis of their partner when disengaging! I promise these earrings will not engage in this behavior.
All pieces are meticulously cut out by hand and the silver pieces are painted with a high quality leather paint. They hang from 14k gold-plated brass long hooks.
